Life pollution

StephenJames

A selfish world

A burdened population

The growing numbers

A need for inoculation

But we all arise

From comfortable slumber

And live our lives

Burying out secrets

Its been the only solution

Its just a little lite pollution.

A need for things

A lust for luxury

What our government brings

A system of structuring

Running water

Asphalt roads

A street lamp in the night

Its been our only solution

Its just a little light pollution

A hunger for distraction

A screen glaring bright

Something to comfort us in the night

The endless 30 seconds

Stuck on repeat

Leaving us stuck in our seat

Its been our only solution

Its just a little life pollution

The culmination of choice

Choosing comfort and ease

Taking from the planet

Without saying please

Running through the resources

Not replenishing what we stole

Our insatiable hunger

Taking its toll

No regard for life

Our only solution

To live this life of pollution

A fave for the message of this write. Nicely rhymed it carries the reader along on a human journey through exploitation of the environment and the introduction of waste management to pollution even our need for light at night and pollution of the dark. Well written
