keep me for a while
and make the most out of me
suck the marrow out my flesh
Take what you need
but as soon as im useless to you
Throw me away
Step on me once and you'll never see me again
Leave me to rot in dirt and I'll go down without a fight
Burn me so you can watch the fumes,
Crush me for you enjoy the sound
and when I'm no more fun,
just leave me on the ground
Throw me away, because you know you can.

Disposable in a throw away world. A sad write of being used. Here today gone tomorrow. Well written
My friend, this is brutal. The escalating physical destruction makes the emotional exploitation terrifyingly tangible...being valued only for what one provides leaves the speaker emptied of dignity and expecting abandonment. This struck a raw place. Powerful work. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛
We all have a limited shelf life, but the brutality of others can shorten even that. One man’s trash is another man’s treasure, as the saying goes, so while others may not see my value, I fancy myself as a pile of golden doubloons. Great poem!
