Somewhere,
Out there—
Beyond the machine—
The bluesman,
Ever can he be heard.
An undiscovered soul,
With grit in his growl
And pain in his howl;
No stranger in this town.
His mama raised this son—
Always the center of fun—
The blues shot out of the gun.
Mr. Technique shaped into soul—
Have a cigar, y’all—
With or without you,
Mr. Bluesman’s guitar-graced voice
Will forever melt gold!

A fine tribute
Norman, thank you so much, my friend. Richieβs music has meant a great deal to me over the years, so this one came straight from the heart. πΈπβοΈπ
and it showed my friend
I love blues Tristan one of my favorite genres especially when the soul can be heard beneath the grit. Male or female either works. A beautiful dedication to a singer and type of music close to my heart.
Soren, Iβm right there with you. The blues reaches somewhere few other genres can and Richie has always carried that depth beautifully. Thank you, my friend. πΈπβοΈπ
You are most welcome Tristan
I recognize a little of myself in this blues tune ...
I can absolutely see that, Lorenz...there is something of the bluesman in anyone who transforms pain into art and keeps singing. Much appreciated, my friend. πΈπβοΈπ
And now our joint poem 'Mr Spinach Man'. Or could be 'Mr Knitting Man' or 'Mr Sabre Man'. We know them guys! lol.
Orchi, why choose? Mr Spinach-Knitting Sabre Man sounds like the hero nobody requested but the glugging crew unquestionably deserves! Why? WCAT, of course! π€£πΈπβοΈπ
The new (comic?) adventurer - Mr Spinach-Knitting Sabre Man. Will there be a film of it?!
Sounds like a cool hip dude.A well written tribute here.An enjoyable read
He is indeed, David...one seriously cool musician with an unmistakable voice, whether singing or playing guitar. Thank you, my friend! πΈπβοΈπ
Well written. Your poem delves into the life and essence of a blues musician, portraying him as an embodiment of the genre's rich history and emotional weight. It touches on themes of personal struggle, cultural identity, and the transformative power of music.
Thank you, Friendship. Richie has always transformed his struggles into something deeply human through both his voice and guitar. Iβm glad that came through. πΈπβοΈπ
