Debted Bliss

Kurt Philip Behm

Buying my

anonymity

each day

 is costing more

The mortgage

on new moments

signed in blood

 their payment sure

In plain sight

hides my essence

for as long

as I can pay

In debted

bliss

my soul is pledged

— to go from day to day

Kurt, what a powerful portrayal of concealment as an accumulating obligation. Remaining unseen offers protection, yet every borrowed day demands another portion of the self...a painful tension I know all too well. Brilliant work, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛
