Searchlights expose the cracking irises of balkanizing eyes,

Polycoric irides straining the berms to the point of catastrophic failure,

Dividing as quickly as they multiply.

Droning insurgencies swarm my disputed air space,

intrusive violations blipping across the UserFace,

the radar screen lighting up with uncontrollable ticks.

Warping sectors along the frontal lines lock down under curfew as mines scorch the PFC.

Undefended claves of reality’s contraband are seized by counter-intelligence,

corrosive saboteurs hijacking the airwaves—

A propagandist takeover corrupting a fragile Freudian ego-system.

Signal lost.

All frequencies emitting a flat-lining hum through the dark of the dead zone.

Wastelands of hostilities and occupations lay in waiting for some static to soar.

A vacuum of power unattained.

A once sovereign body,

relegated to a ghost state.

A brief reprieve.

A systemic blackout triage of physical reconnaissance,

a cold war reverence.

Starvation cordons’ white walls streaking red,

concertina spools littered and seeping.

Residual ghosts of agency remain at the checkpoints,

attempting to crossover the divides.

Reestablishment of perimeter’s reach,

measures short into war-torn territories.

Reclamation of sovereignty,

one eye at a time.

But treaties are tortured signatories behind closed doors.

Deliberations are held in contempt.

Reconciliation is but a shot in the night.

Violent resurgences quickly build,

laying ruin to the furlough.

A fugue state bordering catatonia,

may be the foregone conclusion,

a singular resolution.

Conscious of the unconscious dissolutions protruding into my eyes—

chemical warfare: a poster child of bliss,

sustained vascular contamination,

a numbing kiss.
