Hanging

Spencer Wilhelm

Let it spill:

Guts gushing all

over.

All in is lust

All in disgusts

All in is death

waiting to take me to bed.

My cup has bled

Beaten my head

And stolen life's worth away.

I cried to my God

I cried "Oh my God"

I cried and you never did came.

O SHAME!

O Shame to live that LIE!

O Shame to think that MY

My sweet oh Jesus could leave me by

To suffer and die, hung out to dry,

When everything's done Him the same.

You were there in the darkest moment,

You were there when I cried out and shout

You saw the lance I thrust at my own parts

Instead took pierced to your heart.

Hang me, I say

Hang me, I pray

Hang me!

What good can I do to those who love me

When freedom to me is the same as slavery?

I use and abuse all that's in me,

And handedly lose what means to be free.

Son, when will you see

It's me who hangs upon the tree?

Whose hands abused, stretch using their final breadth

To breathe

One final breath of life,

To fill your lungs

By one so suffocated by love

For you

So you could live

In me

Anew.
