Himalaya

Muhammad Ashraful Alam

Oh Himalaya,
The king of infinite beauty,
Why do you have this fierce form?
Which is such a brutal catastrophe.
Is this your cruel revenge?
You yourself created the glacier reservoir,
Again the glacier collapsed right there by tearing your chest.
Suddenly, huge explosion and tremor
Which results in—
Landslide,
Impetuous streams of mud-stone-dust-water
It comes to the mountain valley in rushing towards with irresistible power.
Where death, destruction, horror, scream
And an uncertain future.
People are utterly helpless to your ferocity!
Maybe, you are laughing out loud by creating this rampage.
Because you are mighty
And this is the manifestation of your infinite power.
Still you calm down.
Forgive us.
Prayer for Nepal.
