Concealed beneath the surface
I build a fortress around my tender soul
Hiding behind a hollow smile
Yet my deeply feeling heart is no longer mine to keep
Idealistic views of untainted affection
I was the only one feeling love, while you felt only lust
My hearts desire, my everything
You walked away without a second glance, leaving my dignity in tatters
I poured my entire being into you
Never once questioning that love would win in the end
I paid the price for being so naive
This was going to hurt sooner or later
I handed you my whole heart, thinking the universe brought us together
Deceit has become my shadow, and betrayal my constant companion
My serenity vanished with you, and now my existence is a tangled storm
My greatest emptiness is the space where my faith in love used to be
