Space in Three Parts

Eugene S.

SPATIVM (Spatium)

What is this space between us, a thought?
Is it a container for a pain once suffered?
A hold for the unshown anger that you cannot let go?
Or is it just air, empty?
Is it the void left behind by the tragedy?
Or is it full of everything you ever loved or desired?
This gulf between every living soul,  between the objects that are, or the things that may yet be -
all of the world, the universe you can't see,
the waves of sound that we,
that we are tuned in to
that alter our electricity.
Can space really contain everything and remain unseen?
Does it separate all that be, to allow for individuality?
Does it allow for beauty to be layered visually?
Is it a reminder of the solace and grandeur of eternity?

χάος (Khaos)

χάος is actually a beginning
An abyss more ancient than everything
Every culture somehow knows it to be true
That containment at the start of all
The Hebrews recorded it in the first book, in the second verse, תֹּהוּ וָבֹהוּ, a desolation, a chaos,
a beginning.
You see, there is the Wuji
where started the yin, the yang, if you're a Taoist
If you grew up in the Bakongo traditions of the Congo River Basin,
the divine spark, the Kalûnga enters
for all was Mbungi, a circular void
Nietsche once said, "One must have chaos in oneself to be able to give birth to a dancing star."
Carl Jung followed with, 'In all chaos, there is a cosmos, in all disorder, a secret order."
I think i understand you
I think i know who you are

Αἰθήρ (Aether)

But does it mean anything, other than to us
And if it is just us, why
It's all like a whisper on the breeze
That in all that is, will cease
In all that could ever be
To only seize at every fall
Every breeze in the lifespan of humanity

We used to write on what was provided
Evidence of all that was previously decided
Tomes of knowledge composed,  subdivided with our fellow man
But now we throw our words to the wind
An empty place unseen
Where the light, once doused, is less than a whisper
Indicative of the Αἰθήρ and the places in between
