Love Hard

Anthony Hanible

Love hard

Like stormlight

Cutting through a midnight room

Like truth that doesn’t tremble

Even when the world does

Love hard

With both hands

With the scars you never show

With the ache you never name

With the fire you almost hid

Love hard

Because soft love

Gets blown away

By the first cold wind

But the kind you forge

In the furnace of your chest

Stays

Love hard

Until the echoes

Learn your name

Until the shadows

Step aside

Until the heart you hold

Beats brave again
