Dala en chuny ma ol, to pod temo atema,
Dala tielo machwanyo marach, to pod kedo.
Dala rangach madong’ gunda,
Itucho mana e kor chiel,
Dala sulwe malwar gi ber.
Dala wat, makichopo, to adhola chango,
Kata mbala manie chuny,
To pod chiwo kwe gi hera.
Dala ok ich lit ka wadu nigo,
Kata ka masira ochoponi,
Gokinyi gi kiawa.
Dala giko mar chakruok,
Dala muma mahoyowa gi hocho.
Dala mos, makata inindo kech,
To pod itemo gi nyiero.
Dala mbaka dayo mapuonjowa
Kit dhano gi kinde.
Dala en in gi an.

- Comment from author about the poem: → I created this far away from home, during a season of deep loss after losing my father, my twin sister, and a close friend. In those moments, my heart kept searching for a place of comfort — for home. Then I heard songs by Akoth Jumadi, and her music carried a warmth and spirit that inspired me to write this piece.\r\n\r\nThis song is rooted in grief, memory, and healing — but also in the quiet hope of finding light again through music and connection. All credit and deepest appreciation go to her artistry and influence. Please support her music on all platforms @akothjumadi.\r\n\r\n“There are losses that change the shape of your heart forever. This song was made while trying to live with that emptiness, while still searching for peace. Somehow, music became the closest thing to home.”\r\n
