FOOL
You have the right to be an idiot,
you can wreck your life.
You have the right to look worse,
you can always get worse.
You can pay to disguise yourself,
you can tear your body apart,
do whatever you want, you cretin,
you have the power to be a fool.
Turn your body into a business,
give your money to reshape yourself.
Do whatever fashion commands,
bend to social dictates,
you are a product to be molded.
Don’t file complaints about everything,
if you’re stupid, carry your stupidity,
you wanted it, it’s your negligence.
Change your shirt and throw it away if you’re bored,
your body is the only thing that isn’t disposable.
Your nature is perfect if you know how to look at it.

NECIO
Tienes derecho a ser imbécil,
puedes destrozarte la vida.
Tienes derecho a verte peor,
siempre puedes empeorar.
Puedes pagar por amargarte,
puedes desgarrar tu cuerpo,
haz lo que quieras, cretino,
tienes el poder de ser bobo.
Haz de tu cuerpo un negocio,
da tu dinero para cambiarte.
Haz lo que mande la moda,
plíégate a los dictados sociales,
eres un producto a moldearte.
No pidas reclamaciones por todo,
si eres tonto, carga con tu estupidez,
tú lo has querido, es tu negligencia.
Cambia de camisa y tírala si te aburres,
tu cuerpo es lo único que no es de usar y tirar.
Tu naturaleza es perfecta si sabes mirarte bien.

Freedom carries a heavy burden, that of responsibility. Be what you wish to be nothing more nothing less. But when you do carry the responsibility of owning it. Well written my friend.
Thank you, my friend. In the end it all comes down to that—owning what we choose.
I’m glad you read it that way.
My pleasure my friend
My friend, this is fierce. It has that scorched, confrontational energy of watching people willingly submit themselves to whatever trend, pressure, or industry tells them they are not enough. Strong piece, Carlos. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛
Thank you, Tristan. Sometimes I just write what I see—people shaping themselves to fit everywhere except into their own skin.
I’m glad the intensity reached you.
It's certainly harder to be oneself these days. It's easier to try to fit in.
Nicely written Carlos.

Thank you, Syd. It’s true—being oneself is harder than ever. That’s why I write pieces like this, to remind myself too.
