Vesuvio

Lorenz

Born of the morbid power of a fire

scented with sulfuric fumes .

A stench rising from the mineral depths

who reval in the Titan's brutal embrace.

At the call of your beastly  beauty ,

I tasted your tormented lips ,

sculpted by a deadly inner fever ...

at the dawn of a tumultuous passion

fraught with criminal turmoil ,

that plunges the soul into an abyssal  furor.

I loved you as a queen in mourning attire .

Lonely widow in your devastated palace

Woman in your icy bed haunted by bloated cadavers.

I felt the obscure temptation as I watched

the procession of the sacrificed virgins

the heart of the suffering Jesus tatooed

on their offered breasts...

  Rejection of the ciborium ,

veneration of the ashes .

The flayed ones mingle in the putrid mist

of the succub's ravenous breath .

 Prophet who stepped down

from his piedestal of infamy ,

plaything of effeminate princes ...

Napoli , lascivious and dirty city ,

 the children of  Uranus,

signed a pact with the old Vulcan .

Offer us the forgiveness  of the telluric worship !

I am the solitary wanderer who tomorrow

will throw his sacred dementia into the monster 's maw !

Granting carefree living for yet another eternity ...

Are you already nothing more  than this remnant

 of incandescent  pleasure ?

If this is a metaphor for a female relationship stay away it may be hot but you'll get burned. I moved away from close to Mt. St. Helens just a few months before it blew and where I lived six inches of ash fell

The more dangerous the volcano, the stronger its pull.

Vesuvio is a poem about the paradoxical celebration of the fire that destroys and the ash that remains and solidifies...

What a wild and unsettling piece, Lorenz. Naples, Vesuvius, myth, Catholic imagery, lust, sacrifice, and decay all crash together into something almost hallucinatory. Dark, excessive, and completely committed to its vision. Wonderful write, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛
