I spent my seasons planting seeds in other people’s yards,Ignoring my own garden while I played all of my cards. I wore their expectations like a coat that didn’t fit, And lost the girl I used to be, piece by piece
Now I’m learning how to breathe when the air is getting thin, Finding where I end and where the rest of them begin. If you can’t love me at my lowest, then you don’t deserve the view,
I’m finally waking up to find there’s more to me than you.
I thought I found a mirror, but the glass was cracked and cold, Chasing down a story that was never mine to hold. every dream I put on shelf, The hardest road I’ve traveled is the way back to myself.
The silence used to scare me, but now it’s where I grow, I’m cutting all the anchors that I was afraid to throw. No more seeking validation in a heart that’s turned to stone, I’m learning that I’m worthy, even when I’m on my own.
Now I’m learning how to breathe when the air is getting thin, Finding where I end and where the rest of them begin. If you can’t love me at my lowest, then you don’t deserve the view,
I’m finally waking up to find there’s more to me than you.
