The hyper-alert eye finally rests,
no longer scanning every corner for a threat.
The walls stand still, solid and clear,
and the quiet room settles without fear.
Once, the deep awareness burned like heat—
a raw, vivid spark of childhood mind,
a dangerous wonder, wild and complete,
that left no safety left to find.
Now, rooted and calm, the world feels wide,
ready to explore those depths once more, n
ot from a storm raging inside,
but standing firm on a peaceful shore.
The world out there is calling clear,
with a longing that echoes deep and true:
to step beyond the open door,
and search for the woman meant for you.
To hold her close, to kiss her cheek, t
o feel her tender, gentle touch,
to trade the lonely paths you walked
for the simple love you want so much.
