A half moon breaks
A patterned sky
Stars morph to tears
Shining high
Above the ledge
Of ages passed
Ancient gods
Their shadows cast.
The night with edge
In violent threat
A cursed approach
A promise kept
To seek and search
Find its prey
Looking down
No words to say.
Each temple falls
If given time
The next religion
To define
What mankind is
What he should be
As he bends
And takes a knee.

Man's religion can never exceed his intelligence and capacity for understanding. This poem takes one on a journey through time and religious belief. The idea itself is worthy of contemplation. Nicely done Norman.

Heaven forbid it comes, been here that long forgot where I want to go lol
What a striking poem, Norman! The darkness feels ancient and predatory as one sacred order collapses and another rises to dictate human identityโฆa haunting vision of our repeated submission. Excellent work, my friend. ๐น๐ค๐๐ฏ๏ธ๐ฆโโฌ
