only the real things tell...
unless you are a fiction type,
then write whatever sells.

unless you are a media man,
then all you do is fake.

don't let people be fooled...
unless you write for Hollywood,
then just write what looks cool.
Write, write, write the truth,
no matter what they say...
unless you are a playwright--
wait, people still write plays?
Write, write, write the truth,
somehow and somewhere...
They may not want to hear it,
but it has to get out there.

Unfortunately all too true. Very often those judged as classic writes were not that popular upon release and those acclaimed critically excellent also are not that well liked. Some of my best poems are the least read.
