A RECESS
A pause in life, a quiet break,
a few moments to repair ourselves,
a moment to rest from everything.
Gathering energy, let’s forget what hurts,
drawing strength from where there is none,
finding deep inside that illuminating moment.
A pause in the weariness, fighting,
fighting to survive,
holding on to the lifeline
of escape.
To lift ourselves again,
a few moments to recharge,
a break to gain momentum and defeat what’s dark,
a recess to see everything from the other side.
A moment to become ourselves again,
without fear of life’s abyss,
to change what’s harmful,
to live.

UN RECESO
Un alto en la vida, una pausa,
unos instantes para repararnos,
un momento para descansar de todo.
Reponiendo energía, olvidemos lo malo,
sacando fuerzas de donde no hay, positivos,
saquemos de muy dentro el iluminador momento.
Una pausa en el cansancio, luchando,
luchando por sobrevivir,
en el salvavidas
de huir.
Para venirnos arriba,
unos momentos para recargarnos,
un alto para tomar impulso y vencer a lo malo,
un receso para que todo se pueda ver desde el otro lado.
Un momento para volver a ser nosotros,
sin miedo al abismo de la vida,
para cambiar lo malo,
para vivir.

The body knows the need for a break. When industry required brutal work hours they found that giving breaks increased production. It was not out of compassion that breaks were instituted but out of greed itself. Recess as well in school increases the ability to attend and retain information. Again not out of compassion but desire for children to retain more recess is in place. Well written Carlos
