A Cult

Moonstruck_1310

I heard someone say with blind faith,

With unquestioning trust ,

" If you can't handle it, leave it to god",

" Leave it to god and and he will take care of it ",

Leave to God the war and the violence,

Leave to God the atrocities and the blood spilled ,

Leave to God your everyday grievances.

The same God who allows the crimes and the sins,

Who gives it a stamp of approval,

In the name of religion,

You only have to hide behind context,

You only have to frame it enough to fool the masses .

Your god and your religion;

They allow you to hate and yell and scream ,

They allow you to take a look at other's sufferings,

And declare them sinners ,

Because ofcourse,

They must be suffering because they didn't believe in God.

They will create the problem,

" Oh , believe us , you are nothing but a poor, poor creature",

" Come under god's guidance and you shall not be punished ",

They will create the problem and sell you the solution.

They will give it to you on a silver platter,

Your sins , your deeds , the horror and the latter ,

They will look at you and smile ,

As they stab you with the dagger of religion,

And call it " repentance" ,

" Repentance" of your " sins" .

A powerful write where ex post facto explanations justify actions and beliefs. It is easy to concoct explanations to fit one's beliefs where they don't exist mystery is meant to be. Strong words well written.
