It has been cut
Into me.
Has it been cut
Into you?
The rotting world
Wounds before it exits—
Stage left—
Sign of the buzzard
In eagle feathers,
Sound of the dove
Drip,
Drip,
Dripping with blood.
Triggers trigger us all—
Bring in the offender’s pall—
Only an execution will do,
A jackassassination,
To feed the hyenas
Laughing at the feast.

Hmm, how does Popeye fit in here?! lol.
Popeye is operating the trapdoor, Orchi...Ol’ Tom is selling tickets, Obi has disguised himself as a buzzard, and WCAT insists this is merely “community theatre.” Nothing concerning here! 🤣🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛
John F. known as Jack was indeed assassinated and I remember the day well. Some said he was a Jackass others a prince of Camelot. Plenty of vultures but I don't buy the story given. Well written
I can absolutely understand that reading, Soren...“Jack,” assassination, false nobility, and circling vultures create a compelling connection to Kennedy. That wasn’t my original intent, but it opens an unexpected layer, actually. I was writing more broadly about the spirit of public condmenation, now manifesting through cancel culture and elsewhere, and the bloodthirsty appetite such spectacles awaken in the crowd. Much appreciated, my friend. 🫏🩸🦅🙏
You are welcome Tristan. Being an old timer I figured that it might not be it but first thing that came to mind to divorced from common culture my friend
Well written. Your poem revolves around themes of violence, societal decay, and the cyclical nature of suffering and retribution. Your poem also explores the impact of trauma and the inherent brutality of the human condition, suggesting a world that is both wounded and wounding. The reference to execution and "jackassassination" points to a critique of violence in society, possibly reflecting on how individuals or groups respond to offense and pain.
You’ve connected with what drives this piece, Friendship...particularly that moment when being hurt becomes permission to hurt someone else. I wanted to question the satisfaction people take in public condemnation, rather than accountability itself. Thank you for spending time with it, my friend. 🫏🩸🦅🙏
Your not wrong about Cancell Culture. What happened to Free Speech? One of our Comedy Writers was arrested for something he said on Twitter/ X . Good Write.
You’ve understood the concern behind this, Kevin...I believe in accountability as words hold power and, therefore should be used responsibly, but what we so often see in cancel culture is public outrage given permission rather than constructive accountability. There’s a difference between wanting someone to do better and wanting everyone to watch them fall and be kicked while down. Much appreciated, my friend. 🫏🩸🦅🙏
My Pleasure as always.
We're living in truly terrifying times with all these 2030 and 2050 agendas.
A powerful few are keeping the rest of us divided and distracted from what actually matters. I don't think we've ever been this fractured—it's everyone against everyone on a global scale, classic divide and conquer.
Everyone preaches love and peace, but they're creating the exact opposite.
It really feels like we're watching an apocalyptic scenario play out.
And let's not forget, there's a reason the devil is known as the Prince of Lies.
