It's time for me to leave.

Friendship

It's time for me to leave.

When hands unclasp and palms turn bare,
And whispers meet the heavy air,
“I cannot help,” the sentence falls,
A quiet echo down the halls.

Is it a wall, or is it a gate?
A sign to pause, a cue to wait?
Or is it time to shift the tide,
To lay the heavy plea aside?

For roots may grip the stone too tight,
And moths burn out against the light,
And begging deserts for a stream
Will never wake a thirsty dream.

When walls rise up and doors are sealed,
The truest answers are revealed:
The path ahead is sharp and steep,
And promises you have to keep.

It is not defeat to turn and see
The vast horizon welcoming thee.
When human hands must let you go,
That’s when your own strong wings can grow.

Goodbye🌹
