We are puppets ,
We are gentle ,
And timid ,
And shy ,
And submissive.
We step out and their eyes bore onto us ,
There are watchful eyes at every turn and wolves waiting at every corner,
One wrong step,
And they tear us limb to limb ,
The blood will spill out along with innocence .
Man is a strange animal,
He will hunt the puppets down,
A hungry look in his eyes,
Eyes that are ready to pop out,
Eyes that will follow you in every corner and every alley .
Man is a strange animal,
He wants to control the puppets ,
As far as he's concerned;
The puppets are merely a pair of legs ,
The puppets are his ,
His to play with,
And use,
And control,
His to swallow the puppets whole.
And do so until the puppets are dead ,
But don't be fooled,
His eyes and his hands and his hunger will follow you into death ,
Because we are puppets; gentle and timid and shy,
Because we are puppets merely with flesh.
