Beloved
I
In these verses that I write
I want you to find your dream
in this pale‑blue, pensive sky
as you gaze, thinking.
II
Feeling each moment draw near,
swift as gold forming from the sunset;
hearing the stubborn whining engine cry
while you fly through the heat of the month.
III
And you will think: What a promising year.
How much sun on the plains. And perhaps,
when you sigh and gently close your eyes…
only your dream remains.

A most beautiful poem of which the last two lines "when you sigh and gently close your eyes…only your dream remains." struck me and took my thoughts to another place of reflection. How poignant they are and what power they contain. Whether you believe in an afterlife or not they hold the same force. So peaceful and majestic. Simply lovely my friend and a fave
Thank you for your kind words. I appreciate them. Thank you for taking the time to read what I wrote.
It is always a pleasure my friend
I wrote this poem five years ago while I was working as a flight attendant. I found it in my list of poems and I edited it.
