Red Riding Hood

Moonstruck_1310

Little red riding hood,

Red riding hood,

With her blush - tinted cheeks and baby teeth,

With small limbs and wide smiles.

Little red riding hood,

Dripping of innocence,

With huge deer- like eyes ,

Filled with wonder,

Untouched by the rot,

Untouched by the venom.

Little red riding hood,

Lost her way in the cursed woods,

Woods that are dark and grim; closing in,

Woods that were built on the bones of little hoods.

Fear not,

For a saviour shall come,

To show her the way out,

To show her the right path,

The way a priest wood,

For little red riding hood.

A wolf arrives in sheep's carcass ,

Intentions patient and pure,

He will look on with interested eyes,

Elongated limbs and a honeyed smile .

His eyes possess a hunger inhumane,

His grin is eerily wide ,

A honeyed smile corrupted with poison,

Elongated limbs holding tight enough to draw blood.

Little red riding hood,

A child in the woods; mislead ,

The wolf licks his lips ,

" What a tender young thing",

His eyes bore on with a cruel glee,

He took a child for himself,

For himself to enjoy .

Little red riding hood,

Confused and captivated,

Locked in the wolf's hut,

Deep in the dark woods.

Little red riding hood,

Her blush- tinted cheeks now hollow,

Small limbs stretched unnaturally,

Wide smiles turned into frowns and cries and screams.

Little red riding hood,

Stripped of innocence,

Deer-like eyes filled with dread,

Wasted went all her wonder.

Night will fall and the door will slam shut ,

And it won't be long before little red riding hood will become a bundle of bones,

Buried in the woods,

Another day shall come,

And another little red riding hood shall lose her way in the woods,

And it won't be long before the wolf finds her,

Until she too, is confused and captivated.
