Each night I sit and wonder
Where my body has gone
Skin that was once smooth
Wrinkles now live on
When I read I need glasses
I need the TV volume turned up high
I never got a piece
Of that pie in the sky
I get up several times a night
As mother nature calls
Always being mindful
Not to trip and fall
No longer do I dream
Those days are long gone
Dreaming now I'm sure
Would only do me harm
The days are getting shorter
As my whole body hurts
When I hear the phrase "the golden years"
All I want to do is curse
