LICENSE TO CRY
I let myself drift while watching films,
a Tuesday night, deep into the early hours,
I released my tears — I had permission.
I was free to feel to the point of exhaustion,
I cried so much that, in the end, the sky broke open,
a rain‑soaked film, tender movies.
The heat gave way to rain,
free drops of water,
in the small miracle
of dreaming.
I’m a fool,
and I wished for happiness,
as always, until I was worn out,
a movie marathon, films to cry and dream with,
I sank so deeply into the story I became one more among them.
One day watching manga films, unexpected animated worlds,
a four‑dimensional cinema, raining inside and outside the soul,
one more inside a story that wasn’t mine, but I made it my own.
In the power of having a license to cry,
of making everything so exaggerated
that, in the end, it rained
in Madrid.

CON LICENCIA PARA LLORAR
Me he dejado llevar viendo películas,
un martes de noche, en la madrugada,
he liberado las lágrimas, tengo licencia.

This poem is the result of a late night spent watching two Japanese films: Your Name (Kimi no Na wa) and Weathering With You (Tenki no Ko).
The emotions of those stories —the rain, destiny, and the gentle atmosphere of anime— blended with the music playing and with the reality of Madrid, creating an intimate moment where tears and rain became part of the same storyline.

Llorar es gritar desde dentro.
Crying is screaming from within.
