SENDEROS

Carlos Alberto BUSTILLOS

PATHWAYS

In my life there were too many dreams,
but life delivers its slaps of reality.

The pathways were never a cloud;
I dreamed of living in the gentle clouds,
but the clouds were far away.

In the end everyone drifted away,
my beloved angels left,
they climbed the pathways,
and I stayed on the earth,
in that drowning mud.

Life is what it is,
too sad
to dream.

In the end,
I will run
toward their pathway,
and perhaps the dreams will be real.

I pray to find those pathways
in another place; who knows if I will find them,
where the angels may gather again,
where there is no need to dream because everything is good.

SENDEROS

En mi vida hubo demasiados sueños,
pero la vida da bofetadas de realidad.

Los senderos nunca fueron una nube;
yo soñaba vivir en las dulces nubes,
pero las nubes estaban muy lejos.

Al final todos se fueron alejando,
mis amados ángeles se fueron,
ellos subieron los senderos,
y yo me quedé en la tierra,
en ese barro que ahoga.

La vida es lo que es,
demasiado triste

misery and loss matched with dreams and heaven providing a duality in this write. Nicely done my friend

I liked the clarity of your vision as expressed here. However, I'm not sure everyone (or anyone) found that 'other place' either...
