A child is born a blank and open page,
A gentle spirit entering the stage.
They do not walk this world of ours alone; T
hey look to us to make the quiet known.
They need the patience of a steady hand,
A calm response when life gets hard to stand,
The warmth of eyes that truly look inside,
Where sacred hopes and quiet fears reside.
And when my vision blurs or strays off track,
Their honest truth can pull my wisdom back.
For small voices often see what is right,
Teaching the adult to step into the light— T
o change my mind, to listen and reset, Learning lessons I had grown to forget.
I’d go above and beyond in all I do,
To honor what reason and love ask me to.
I celebrate the gift of who you are,
A light that shines brighter than any star.
You are never a burden to simply tolerate;
Your very life is a joy I will always celebrate.
For every child deserves a safe embrace,
A listening heart, a protected space—
The full attunement of a grounded mind,
The softest, strongest care that we can find.
