No hard feelings
I leave them at the door
Like shoes caked with yesterday’s mud
Not worth carrying
Across a clean floor
I’m lighter now
Not because nothing hurt
But because I finally learned
That some weights
Aren’t meant to be held
I wish you calm skies
Soft mornings
A life that doesn’t bruise you
The way mine once did
No hard feelings
Just distance
Just clarity
Just the quiet truth
That we grew in different directions
And that’s okay
I walk forward
With open hands
No bitterness
No fire behind the teeth
Only the small hope
That you do the same
