Dimebags and Diamonds

Tristan Robert Lange

remember the days?—

dimebags
and diamonds

cutting through steel
hot and heavy

doused in liquid cool
tempered

ready to rock—
a hell of a run

ended

by the sound
of a mother
fucking

gun.

Its a culture that seems here to stay my friend, money to be made

    • Tristan Robert Lange

Sadly, I think you’re right, Norman. Too many powerful interests benefit from keeping fear alive and weapons flowing. Appreciate you, my friend. πŸŽΈπŸ’ŽπŸ–€πŸ™

        always welcome

Here intended or not lay many clues dime bags known to any that purchase, diamonds crystalline THC, cut, what dealers do to increase profit and decrease lethal dosages, steel a drug to treat major depressive disorder although not commonly abused an artifact of abuse. rock slang for crack cocaine and crystal meth. Where there is money to be made there are guns to protect and wars to be fought. Good one my friend

You took this somewhere I never consciously intended, Soren...and damn if the whole alternate reading doesn’t hold together. The poem’s foundation is β€œDiamond Darrell,” β€œDimebag Darrell” (of Pantera and Damageplan fame), heavy metal, and his murder, but those unintended associations create an eerie second current. Fantastic catch, my friend! πŸŽΈπŸ’ŽπŸ–€πŸ™

            Most welcome Tristan

            Brilliant. Gritty and sharp.

Hell yeah, Thomas! So glad this one delivered. Much appreciated, my friend! πŸŽΈπŸ’ŽπŸ–€πŸ™

I'm dreading the dark poems to appear. Are they about Popeye & Co?! lol.

                Keep away from that spinach.

                • Tristan Robert Lange

Oh, absolutely, Orchi...Wimpy is running an underground butcher shop, Olive Oyl keeps washing blood from the anchor, and Popeye has started collecting teeth in empty spinach tins. They're green of course. Good ol' green teeth, sounds like somthing out of a Charlie Daniels' song! 🀣 Lock the doors and hide Fido! πŸŽΈπŸ’ŽπŸ–€πŸ™

Absolutely, Valiantstar...once the sailor starts glowing green and speaking backward, run for the hills. This public warning was brought to you by WCAT! πŸŽΈπŸ’ŽπŸ–€πŸ™

Powerfully written, let's all put mother fucker guns down. My deepest condolences for Darrell. Tristan I fear for the USA right now. πŸ’œ

Thank you so much, Teddy. "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott should still be here, and countless others should be too. I share your fear for this country...our obsession has cost far too many lives, yet meaningful change remains deliberately obstructed. Always grateful for your heart, my friend. πŸŽΈπŸ’ŽπŸ–€πŸ™
