Midnight Prayer

notapoet

Smoke curls in the midnight air

Like an unanswered prayer,

Moonlight dances on the stone

But I don't feel alone.

You came softly through the darkness

Like moonlight on the sea,

Every road I've ever wandered

Led your love back to me.

The night keeps healing

Softness beneath the stars

And all my pain and sadness

Are now forgotten scars.

The last of what was broken

Dissolved and set free,

I breathe into the quiet

And the peace I've been chasing;

Finally finds me.

    It all comes around in the end. Nicely written
