My mind turns silence into something I should fear.
I replay every word until it sounds like a warning.
I search for hidden meanings in the smallest things.
Even happiness feels temporary when I think too much.
I can’t remember the last time my head was quiet.
I make disasters out of moments that never happened.
I convince myself everyone I love is slowly leaving.
One unanswered message becomes proof that I’m too much.
One change in someone’s voice can ruin my entire night.
I know it’s irrational, but knowing doesn’t make it stop.
I’m exhausted from fighting wars nobody else can see.
I want to trust people, but my brain keeps screaming don’t.
I want to enjoy the moment, but I’m already mourning its ending.
I overthink until every good thing feels poisoned by possibility.
And sometimes I hate my own mind for making living feel this fucking difficult.

- Comment from author about the poem: wrote this because of how hard i find it to deal with overthinking and anxiety in my day to day life worrying about every sudden change in my friends and loved ones and how much it hurts to overthink.

Overthinking can be a difficult obstacle to overcome. Nicely written.
