I run out of love like a phone's battery.

I run out of love like a phone's battery.

I start off strong.

Fresh.

Telling you everything that comes to mind.

I share my goals,

my dreams,

my wants,

my fears.

But I can't stay full forever.

I start to quiet.

Nothing noticeable.

Not if you don't think to look.

I haven't told you my plans.

Or talked about work,

or my friends,

or that show we both love.

And you haven't asked.

I start to dim.

The light that used to shine

is getting darker.

And this time,

you notice.

You look at me,

those deep blue eyes

that used to fuel my light.

And you think,

it'll be okay,

I'll ask what's wrong later.

But you don't.

And I think

the light is finally going out.

I thought this time would be different.

I thought you'd keep us strong.

Fresh.

But again and again,

I run out of love

like a phone's battery.

Here love is likened to the energy in a battery. Nicely written it works well.
