First Time, Every Time

Rev. Lord C.M. Bechard

Notice of absence from Rev. Lord C.M. Bechard
I may not be around since reality loves to buckle and collapse at the most inconvenient times. I will eventually get back with you, once I conquer whatever is before Me making Me absent. But until then, wish Me luck, for I will need all I may muster.

Your presence enters like satin rain,

a quiet storm beneath my skin,

a spark that dances through my veins,

where intruding thoughts begin again.

The way you move, the way you smile,

turns ordinary into rare,

a single glance can stop the clock

and leave me breathless standing there.

I chase no shadow, seek no flame,

for yours already fills the room,

a whispered promise without a sound,

a garden waking into bloom.

Your laughter lingers on the air,

a melody I cannot ignore,

each heartbeat writes a secret verse

upon a sheet we both score.

The world grows distant when we meet,

the stars seem closer than before,

as if the universe itself

forgot the things it knew before.

No borrowed dream, no faded trace,

could ever capture what we find,

because the wonder in your face

makes each moment feel brand new every time.

A touch becomes a language spoken,

a glance becomes a sacred art,

two souls revealing hidden chapters

written softly from the heart.

The years may gather, seasons turn,

the clouds may paint the skies anew,

but every time I look your way,

I meet the miracle that is you.

Not like a memory growing old,

not like a tale we’ve read before,

but like a doorway opening wide

to something deeper than before.

You are the rhythm in my pulse,

the harmony beneath my breath,

the kind of beautiful that makes

this man forget the world he left.

And when the daylight embraces us,

when silence settles into view,

I find the sweetest kind of truth:

our first time relives in me as I am entering you.
