Specimen

Fränz Müller

Life, at times, is like a play

in which we sing and dance;

but far beneath we squirm and scream

awake, yet in a trance.

The crowd before us snickers, sneers

their faces in a scowl;

though all we want is kind applause

they simply stare and howl.

And so we smile, and so we cry

at their unkind attack;

but what if we just flip the script

and simply turn our back?

The audience, it matters not;

their curses?  In the past;

we’ll mark that day we turn away

and be ourselves, at last!

    A great thought and message where we can not let others govern our life and make what they think important. Well said
