A Sign From The Other Side

Teddy.15

As I closed my eyes to go to sleep an overwhelming sense came to me, my mother and father are now both gone, and as my tears tried to pass through my closed and tired eyes
I opened them to the tender stream of teardrops
the next thing I remember
Is asking my father if he preferred wine or beer with his dinner, my mother didn't drink, he replied "wine a good bottle of chianti wine please Shirl" I was so thrilled
and as I left the house to find his grand bottle at the near by store
I just remember feeling such happiness
and just as I went out the door, I awoke from my dream
I found it was a sign...
a sign that they have once again found eachother on the other side

and yes...

I find myself
overwhelmed in peace and tranquility.

Dreams are often a means of working through everyday problems and this one leaves a feeling of peace. Nicely written my friend.

Amazing how they little signs come through and the joy they bring.
I would still go out and buy a bottle and fill a couple of glasses.

Powerful, sweet Teddy. Thereโ€™s a damn tender grief in this, because the dream gives the speaker something death took away: one more ordinary evening with both parents together, complete with a bottle of Chianti and the simple happiness of serving them dinner. The ending is beautiful because the dream doesnโ€™t erase the loss, it transforms it into peace, letting the speaker believe that somewhere beyond this life, his mother and father have found each other again.
