Distorted

Minds of the younger

Notice of absence from Minds of the younger
Hello everyone, I will be unable to post anything as my younger cousin broke my computer.

i had a nightmare

my face was distorted

i wonder why it looked so real

and as i wake to look in the mirror

all i saw was distorted

all i see, is distorted

  • Comment from author about the poem: I used to have heavy body dysmorphia, and it felt like this at a constant rate, on one hand i knew it was fake, but on the other, i feared the realities.

This poem speaks of a specific disorder but may be taken as a metaphor for all in that our perceptions are distortions of reality that we never see clearly. To notice is a revelation. Well written and a fave
