The Day That Nothing Happens, I Will Celebrate

AuburnScribbler

My bleeding ears; and heart; does pray

for such a golden silence,

a much needed restful day,

thus, do not blare those sirens,

as despots will be sleeping,

the guns will not impale,

all families won’t be weeping

hence; cruel system, will not hail,

there will be no profit

yet; there will be no loss,

thus, quietened is such “prophet”,

whose words; belong in moss,

for twenty four good hours,

no lanyard nooses; choke,

stall all those poison powers;

dictating our dark joke,

hyper-act, just lock that fact,

cell doors, won’t be open,

every foe, will make a pact,

to make a sin unbroken,

even pigeons; will stay their flaps,

market place be empty,

and there won’t be thunder claps,

so, quietness is plenty,

giving time to reflect,

on what we can improve,

organic thought, and tech neglect,

could write a better groove -

but, just sit and be; that day,

no action, means no hate,

the day that nothing happens, hey –

I will celebrate!

  • Comment from author about the poem: Nothingness or silence, is the fear of the busy-bodies, thus, these sedateaphobes need to keep on trucking! However, when everything starts to happen, that's when, overcomplication, division, dissatisfaction and conflict is born. Thus, with that said, such hyperactivity, has become the vice, the addiction, of humanity, and hence, in order to address such a dangerous code of conduct in our species, needs to have a bit of a "cold turkey" like day, to instill some common decency and sense. With that said, I give you this wishful poem, that such a day of "ultimate rest/reflection", can occur, in order to be the foundation, of humanity's long overdue need to SLOW RIGHT DOWN! No banner picture, no explanation, just blank, wonderfully blank! I hope that you enjoy, and take something from this poem, when you need a rest, please take the opportunity to take it, and as always, please do stay safe in this oversaturated, over-repeated madness everyone! P.S. Even on such a day, poetry might not exist, just the purity of basic, simple thought, or perhaps, the blissful absence of any "distraction", leading to a much needed zen like sleep!
