Thoughts of a tree

Caveman

I did not choose my home, fate buried me here long ago

Forced to be still, bearing no voice of my own

Why do I live this nothing life, is it for past mistakes that I now atone?

The very nature of my existence, forbidden to roam
A complete and total surrender to the earth for she decides if I get to grow.

My branches get tall
My limbs grown long
Ive conquered many storms, gaining strength through them all

My scars give shelter, my holes give homes, my leaves give life and I give my all for others to roam

I stand here silent and stable, fruitful and resilient

Sitting still in nature while I bask in all her brilliance.

Wonderfully worked as a metaphor. Nicely done

Okay, Caveman...now you’ve got me wondering what the trees outside my window think about all of us running around like idiots. 😂 Loved this, my friend.🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛
