Living In The Pain

Anthony Hanible

Pain wakes me nightly

Cold breath lingering

Shadows press inward

Heart beats heavier

Silence becomes company

Grief shapes mornings

Memories cut deep

Hope feels distant

I walk hurting

Steps drag slow

Days blur together

Nights burn louder

Still I rise

Broken but breathing

Carrying quiet strength

Holding fragile light

Living in pain

Is still living

Even shattered souls

Learn stubborn survival
