Every Moment

Paul Gerard Reed

I have every moment

Every drop of rain that falls,

I have my history in front of me

I have the morning bird calls;

I still have enough energy

To keep the show on the road,

Turn a blind eye to the aches

Keep carrying that heavy load;

Calling to me, I can sense it

A silent inner voice,

Flowing, that endless river

I don't have a choice;

I can still see the light

Burning brightly yesterday,

I can still feel the feelings

That helped me on my way;

One day it will be finished

There'll be nothing left in store,

Diminished, all my powers

I won't want to fight any more;

But tomorrow is watching me

Ahead, stretches out the road,

The pains will soon fly away

On the wings of that heavy load.
