Evangelism—women embody.

This poem draws inspiration from a nineteenth-century woman whose faith carried a distinctly Methodist doctrine beyond denominational boundaries. It considers the women who embodied evangelism, the men who claimed its enterprise, and the redemption that belongs to every soul.

Women historically more spiritual than men. Downplayed biblically they formed a major part of Christ's following and performed as not only the drying of his feet with their hair, the preparation of his body, those below the cross, but as church leaders after his death. They were accorded the first visit by him following his raising from the dead and have carried over in scripture as icons in the Mother Mary and in many saints. The vessel of his birth and symbol of virtue. Today most church goers are women. A lovely write

Doh! It's those couple of odd bits - 1 Corinthians 14 v.34, and a bit in 1 Timothy 2 v.12 I think, rather 'banning women'. But in context, it seems they were calling out in informal-type meetings. Some don't like St Paul, and say he's not keen on marriage either, but he says it's no sin to marry! (1 Corinthians chapter 7).
Meanwhile - Ol' Tom lost the Olympics for the UK cos he got married. But how did that affect him? WCAT!! lol.
Truth spoken plainly. Embodiment over enterprise, every time. Very well written dearest Tittu ❤️ a fave ❤️
Well written. Life is not about accumulation or self-importance but about living fully and giving generously to others.
Beautifully stated — especially the call to live generously and recognize redemption in every soul. A strong piece.
