Sitting in my room this evening
Thinking of times long past
It’s hard to realize where the time has gone
You think that good times will always last
Suddenly you find are all alone
Just time is the only friend you have
You glance out of the window just to see
If the rain has left its autograph
As it trickles down the window pane
And forms a puddle on the sill
Where a little robin has made a nest
And is sitting in it keeping very still
It looks a very forlorn sight him sitting out in the rain
His bright red breast shines so bright
And I pray that he will be ok
As the rain may last all night
For few moments I am relieved to find
My thoughts have forgotten my lonely plight
As I sit and gaze through the wind and rain
Because day very soon becomes night
I have lost count of how many books I have read
To while away the long days
And crossword puzzles take up a lot of my time
And Sudoku’s have become another craze
I rarely receive any visitors
But I do not worry too much about that
Because I amuse myself by playing games
And I have a friend in Alex, next doors Persian Cat
Who calls around for an extra feed
And a cuddle occasionally, as is his want
So I am not lonely all of the time
As he struts about like a commandant
He makes me laugh a lot of the time
With his playful antics and all
Something he likes to do all the time
Is chase a rather large rubber ball
So at the end of the day I sit and ponder
Just what is life all about
I am free to do just as I wish
As there’s rarely anyone about.

A lovely write of one by themselves and only those things about him to entertain him
