I have no words just now.
Being dismissed doesn’t just make you doubt the doctor.
It makes you doubt yourself.
And sometimes that doubt is exactly what keeps you from making the next appointment.
You start second-guessing yourself.
You wonder if the symptom is “bad enough.”
You rehearse what you’re going to say so you sound believable.
You prepare to defend your age, your weight, your stress level, your activity level, your pain.
And sometimes you just… don’t go.
Not because you don’t care about your health.
Because being made to feel foolish for asking for help teaches you to hesitate before asking again.
That part matters too.
