AI Spy

Syd

Before I start I'd like to clarify...
I'm not trying to piss
On anyone's parade

If posting AI generated writing
Makes you feel good
Then that's great...

But trying to tell everyone
That your shit don't stink
When every verse is devoid
Of any human fingerprints?

When you should be like a
Scruffy kid eating candyfloss
Smearing grubby fingerprints
On every surface in the sweet shop

I see plenty pretty window dressing
Lots of mannequins in the mall
Plenty polished stock rhyme and phrasing
Saying lots without saying anything at all

Some writes really make me chuckle
Like a joke that never gets old
So many fucking em dashes
They look like Morse Code
- - - — — — - - - — — — - - -
If I had to rely on AI
Then I'd rather do without
My verses spill like effluent
From an overflow spout

My writing probably stinks too
In fact it does, I'm fucking sure
But at least mine's the stench of
Free range festering manure

If anyone suspects their eyes
Are being fed artificial waste
Then all it takes is a simple
Drag and drop, copy & paste

I hope I've raised a few eyebrows
And opened many eyes
If I've really offended anyone....

Then I do apologise

As long as it is advertised as AI and not put out as someone's work I am okay with it but fail to see the point in that it attempts to put emotion into a write where the author has none. Well written

Yes, I agree Sorenbarret. If I suspect AI writing then I use the copy and paste trick to get a probability score. Of course this doesn't prove anything but if writes by an author are always high probability, then the dots join up.

Thanks for stopping by, reading and commenting.

      Much appreciated - Syd 🍄

        Most welcome

        Nice rant, Syd.
I hope it raises awareness in some of the practitioners and act as a warning.
Not quite sure what the copy and paste does though. I would be pleased to add another piece of artillery to my armoury.
I've actually called a 'poet' out, though it made not one whit of difference to anyone's reaponses here.

          Hi Dave,
Thank you. It is a bit of a rant isn\'t it. I\'ve been putting off writing about AI generated poetry for a while. I was debating where to post this at all, but to hell with it 🤣.

The copy and paste bit refers to copying a poem and pasting into to an AI app such as GPTZero or Chat GPT and asking the question...is this generated with AI? It will give you a percentage likelihood, but like Tristan points out, it doesn\'t prove something is written with AI. However, if a certain author always posts stuff in the 80 -100 range then it\'s more than likely their work is AI generated.

I hope this helps Dave. Take care mate 🍄

Seems one way to go when really there aren't many (or any) solid tools to use; a little like asking a liar if they are lying.
Whoever or whatever programmed ('educated'?) that AI could have constructed a very prevaricating answer tool to keep punters asking, but with little absolute truth embedded there.
If you come across a better...🙃☺️

First, great tile! And yes, 💯free-range festering manure wins over factory-produced perfection every damn time, Syd. I’m not against the appropriate use of AI any more than I would have been against Gutenberg’s printing press. But when someone is using AI to shortcut creativity, I do have to ask why. I also don’t trust AI’s ability to determine human writing from its own. My poem today touches on why! 🤣 🤦‍♂️ Well, all that is neither here nor there. Brilliant rant, my friend! 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

              Hi Tristan,
Thank you so much for your kind comment. I thought you might enjoy this one. I agree, these AI checkers aren't 100% I've had one as high as 40% which I was gutted about. Your write is another example. I'm quite good at spotting it with my own eyes these days as it has a familiar pattern, punctuation and language.

I'm certainly not against AI, it is a very useful tool. Where I use it for images, videos and music I always label it. Quite a few writers use it as a spell check, which explains perfect grammar and punctuation. As a British person I'm always wary of a fellow Brit who uses em dashes though, we tend to use...instead.

I appreciate you stopping by reading and commenting Tristan - Syd 🍄

The em dash morse code is really a MAJOR red flag. I laughed out loud when I got to that part. Yes, I am exactly where you are on it, my friend. AI as a tool...by all means. But be honest! I too use it as a thesaurus, image generation for my poetry, proofreading, etc. But it doesn''t touch my poetry or replace my presence...otherwise, wtf am I here for? 🤷‍♂️ Anywho, you are welcome, Syd. And, yes, you knew this would pique my interest! 🤣
