Forgive(n)

Fränz Müller

What is the weight of sorrow?

What is the size of hate?

What is the cost of stolen time,

of anger, lying in state?

Too many years you’ve carried the load

too many miles have passed;

isn’t it time to let things go

and find relief at last?

Forgive yourself for holding on,

and forgive the ones who hurt;

while there’s still light, and you’re still here

and not boxed beneath the dirt.

To forgive and be forgiven

friends, I think the time is here;

shake off that pall and make that call

and restore that joy so dear.
