Love Turned Silent
Of all the hearts I’d known before,
Yours was the one I treasured more.
You came like spring, so warm, so bright,
And turned my darkest days to light.
I wasn’t perfect—I know it’s true,
Yet every blame somehow still grew.
I held the pieces, took the pain,
Just to keep us whole again.
Then Valentine’s arrived at last,
A day for love—but ours had passed.
While others held their dreams so near,
I held back tears no one could hear.
One final shout, one final stare,
A crowded road, an empty air.
You walked away without a sound,
And left my shattered heart on the ground.
Now every smile I try to wear
Still hides the love that’s waiting there.
For though you left and set me free,
A part of you still lives in me.
And if one day you think of us,
Remember this—without a fuss:
I lost the girl I loved the most,
But you became the memory I miss the most.

Nostalgia and a sadness over parting but memories are left and brighten the day. Nicely written with a good deal of feeling. Well constructed with good meter and good rhyme. Very nicely done Sharon
Thank you so much. The poems I write are all the true life based incident
You are most welcome Sharon
