Tune: Laos Deo
('Bright the vision that delighted')
Psalm 86 v.8-13
********
Among the gods there is none to
Compare, O Lord, unto you
Neither any works like yours be
Expressed unto us greatly
All nations who you have made shall
Come and worship you, we tell
And shall glorify your name for
It a lasting name e'ermore
For you are great, and do wondrous
Things, showing them unto us
Teach me your way, O Lord, I will
Walk in your truth, follow still
Unite my heart to fear your name
I shall to you praises frame
To you, Lord God, with my whole heart
Glorify you, not depart
For great is your mercy to me
You came unto my help free
Saved my soul from the lowest hell
Made it to prosper, do well

Nicely done
Thank you F.
Very nice Orchi another hymn nicely composed.
Thank you SB.
You are most welcome Orchi
Never realised there were mobs of Gods in the Christan Cannon, orchi. However it is not uncommon in other theologies; some sport whole football team quantities of ‘em.
Maybe not a bad idea. The old fella has been there for a fair old time, and might like to retire gracefully to make way for a younger more dynamic team…
Thank you D. It's 'gods' with small 'g'.
Bit pedantic there orchi; like to elucidate?
Well, in the Bible, God is written as 'God' or LORD (so ALL in capitals there) and it says 'the only one, true God'. 'gods' are often seen as idols, or in some of the Bible it can also mean people in authority.
Meanwhile, you may kiss Lord Orchi's boots! lol.
Herein doth all truth lie (just keep an eye on the tinea).........................................
You may call me Lord Orchi NS now - same person, and still spouting rubbish (at times)! lol.
Good idea. Trust me, get rid of them boots. Once Athletes Foot gets a hold, it is all over. Trench Foot to follow.
Strong Scripture and a fitting tune, Orchi...meanwhile, Popeyeus Glug Maximus Solus is sitting backward in the pew, humming the wrong melody, and insisting the river of mercy flows green. Glugmen! 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛
Thank you T. lol. Can we trust P not to glug? Never! lol.
