You really just bite the hand
The one that helped you stand
The one that pulled you up
From every sinking sand
You really just twist the rope
The cord that held your hope
The thread that kept you steady
When you couldn’t even cope
You really just scorch the bridge
The one without a ridge
The path I carved for you
From cliff to jagged edge
You really just break the vow
The one you whispered loud
The promise shaped like shelter
That you’re burning down now
You really just bite the hand
And still you don’t understand
I fed you through the famine
Now you’re starving in the land
