I
I used to reverantly watch the Sun
rise and set with all it's symphonic,
prismatic brilliance, while I stood
humbled, dreaming.
Now, I curse the rays for depleting
the Earth of it's precious ozone and
tainting our skin!
I once held Love sacred; no greater
gift was that divine embrace joining
our souls in peace, bonding our lives
as One.
Now, true passion and tenderness are
stifled upon that first confirmation
of Love; reduced to a mere act of
species preservation, as we consummate
only Lies, Doubt, and Fear!
When I was younger, I would go to
church and listen to the preacher work
himself into a frenzy as he delivered
his sermon, until my Soul would glow
with inspiration, hope, and Love.
Now, I look into their eyes and wonder
what their real motives are; as all I
see is corruption, greed, and lies
everywhere I turn, unable to believe
in anything!
Growing up, learning about History,
our heads were filled with elaborate
tales of powerful people who made this
country the greatest economic,
militant, and social power in the
World! But that was ages ago - the
dream is over!
Now, I look around and all I see are
so-called leaders afraid to take a
stand on any issue at all because they
don't want to offend any "PRO/CON
RIGHTS GROUPS", and who could care
less what happens to this country or
the World, so long as their own
welfare, power, and greed persists...
...while all the while, America slowly
fades away because of a spineless
government!
II
When the age of industry arrived and
people began to see it's marvelous
inventions, they politely asked,
"is there anything you can do about
this awful heat?"
"Sure thing", said Innovation; and
soon we had fresh, unspoiled food and
cool, soothing air to protect us from
the Sun's piercing rays.
Through many plagues of the middle
ages; Syphilis and other sexually
transmitted diseases, Lovers still thrived and
flourished as they feasted and danced
in the face of Death.
What is it now that we truly fear:
Love or Death? It's time to move the
tombstone of doubt and take a
revealing look within!
When our founding fathers laid down
the Law of the Land, they established
a separation of Church and State with
the freedom to practice any religion
we wished.
Of course, a couple years later,
because there was no State funding,
and the Reverend Joe "Smooth"
Clepto wanted to put in an extension
at his church; one Sunday he started passing around
his big hat, saying the Lord blesses
those who give freely, all the while
quoting scriptures and grinning like
a pubescent youth in a whore house.
And thus, the first religious
"scandal" was born! Soon after that,
leaders of all the other various
religions quickly spreading throughout
the new land, learned from his example
and looked upon him with amazement saying,
"surely this a great man!"
At the writing of "The Constitution",
one man there suggested that
future leaders of the U.S. be able to
amend the ideals and beliefs that are
established within the document
because, as he and others pointed out,
"Hey, shit happens and times change!"
Well guys, thanks for nothing! Since
there really aren't any set rules at
all, politicians now jockey for power
by writing up personalized bills that,
even if they become Laws, benefit only
the few who probably paid him off in
the first place!
Then along comes another politician
who amends that law; another one
writes up another one, then one
amends that one, who writes another
one, amends that, who writes,
amends, writes, amends, who's on
first, I didn't order any nacho's!
So, in the end, beneath all the lies,
grease and confusion, all we really
have are pages upon pages of LAWLESS
LAWS!
III
Sure, we complain and gripe, and moan
about the way things are today, but do
we really want to correct these
problems because they offend us
personally or is because we wish to
clear our guilty conscious of the many
errors we have handed down to
Humanity?
Why is our conscious clouded by guilt
and self-doubt? Is some force brainwashing
us into thinking a certain way? I strongly
suggest, perhaps?!, especially in a world
where people no longer think for themselves.
We work and think all our lives the
way others tell us to. Why? Because
we need to survive!
Then think about this: is what you're
being told to do and say causing any
of the problems you complain about?
Then how can we point the finger
at others who have wronged us
when they were only doing as they were told?
Since the beginning of Time, we have
always solved our problems with
solutions, which caused other
problems, which we solved, which
caused other problems, and so on, and
so on...
...until after awhile, these
problems and solutions strained
against each other for so long, they
could no longer stand each other's
pressure - and the FAULT LINE gave
way...
...leveling every problem and
solution into a endless pile of
rubbish as far as the eye could see!
